About Gerry
I practiced law for 45 years. My clients included half-dozen Fortune 100 companies, as well as startups and universities. I tried two landmark cases, litigated the rights to a Nobel Prize-winning medicine and was fired by two clients from their cases.
At the age of 78, I enrolled at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) School of Improv, completed the four level program and continued with my independent team, “Error Message.” I performed Improv at the UCB Theatre where I was the only performer with grandchildren; what’s more, they were in the audience several times. I also performed at the Magnet and Pit Theatres, and a couple of Brooklyn bars. Among my roles were a mooing cow, a whining 7-year old and a vengeful Hillbilly.
More recently, I participated in Clown workshops at the Barrow Theatre Group. There I confronted dilemmas, my vulnerability and my inner ridiculousness.
During and after the Pandemic, I turned to studying storytelling. Initially with Adam Wade at the Magnet Theatre, and then with Seth Barish and Lee Brock, co-directors, Martin Moran and Arielle Beth Klein of the Barrow Theatre Group. Most recently, I studied with Matt Hoverman of Go Solo, who helped me put it all together. I performed at Moth, Story Collider and Barrow storytelling events.
I’m a product of Bronx public elementary and high schools and earned degrees in electrical engineering, law and economics.
